Meet Thereasa Rinderknecht
Thereasa Rinderknecht is an attorney in Gainesville, Georgia, representing clients' interests in Hall County and other areas of North Georgia including Dawson, Habersham, Banks, Lumpkin, Union, and Towns Counties.
Thereasa was born in Toledo, Ohio and is a fourth generation attorney in the Rinderknecht family.
As a child, she loved spending weekends with her grandparents, and listening to her Papa talk for hours. He was a student of all history - family, religious, and world history alike - with a fervent love for books, and imparted upon her a passion for both. Although Joe Rinderknecht often said he longed for a quiet life as a pig farmer, he was an Estate Planning attorney who deeply cared about his clients. He showed Thereasa through his actions that compassion and empathy are necessary parts of practicing law - with
every client.
Ms. Rinderknecht began her legal career as a child welfare litigator. She served as an Associate Attorney for the Special Assistant Attorney General in Hall County, representing DFCS until 2016, when she went into private practice representing children who had been victims of abuse and neglect. She has represented parents, relatives, placements, and children, and served as Guardian Ad Litem in dependency cases across seven counties in North Georgia, and served twice as Judge Pro Tem for Habersham County Juvenile Court. She served as the primary children's attorney for the Hall County Family Treatment Court program for eight years.
Ms. Rinderknecht continues to represent parents and stepparents in private adoptions as she has since 2016.
Beginning in January of 2026, she expanded her practice to include Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Special Needs Trusts. Ms. Rinderknecht can now be found assisting clients and furthering her study under Attorney J. Kevin Tharpe in Gainesville — a leading expert in Estate Planning, Elder Law, and Special Needs Law, and co-host of 'Truth in Planning' weekly on WDUN-FM 102.9
Thereasa earned B.A. degrees in History and Political Science from Brenau University summa cum laude, and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law.
